Summary
- To determine whether PPE is necessary in a clinical scenario, a point-of-care risk assessment (PCRA) is conducted1
- Starting October 3, 2023, medical mask wearing is required by all health-care workers, volunteers, contractors and visitors (including UBC faculty, staff and learners) in patient care areas
- PPE is recommended for use in different types of clinical settings. Always check with your preceptor and/or the medical team for guidance on the current PPE practices of your worksite
- Do not perform a task requiring PPE if you do not have the required PPE
