Section Overview

PPE is used and required for a wide variety of scenarios you may find yourself in during clinical placements.

PPE guidelines are based on current provincial guidance from the BCCDC and the Ministry of Health, and they are subject to change as the prevalence of communicable disease changes and/or new information becomes available.1 The recommendations outlined in this module are current at the time of its creation; however, their relevance is likely to change with time. Always defer to the current provincial and Health Authority guidelines.

This section covers the following topics:
  1. PPE in Clinical Settings
  2. PPE in Non-Clinical Settings
  3. What to do if the appropriate PPE is not available
